Beaulieu International Group (B.I.G.) has finalized a share purchase agreement to acquire IFG Asota GMBH, an Austrian fibre company that plays a pivotal role in the global synthetic staple fibres market. This strategic move significantly enhances Beaulieu’s Fibres Division (BFI) and represents a crucial step toward becoming the world’s most trusted partner for sustainable nonwoven solutions.

IFG Asota GMBH offers extensive expertise in fibres such as polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polyethylene (PE), and biopolymer fibres like PLA. The company serves a diverse array of high-value sectors, including flooring, automotive, filtration, and various technical applications. IFG is particularly noted for its strong innovation capabilities, hosting a research facility equipped with a unique pilot line that accelerates the development cycle by enabling the prototyping of new fibres. This expertise in technical applications and biobased and recycled polymers boosts Beaulieu’s drive for product leadership.

A Strategic Fit for Innovation and Sustainability

Acquiring IFG Asota GMBH marks a strategic alignment for Beaulieu within its operations at Beaulieu Fibres International (BFI). This acquisition closely aligns with Beaulieu’s vision of being “the most complete staple fibre expert,” empowering clients to surpass expectations in performance, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency across both disposable and durable nonwoven technical textiles.

“Our ambition is clear,” says Jean-Baptiste De Ruyck, CEO. “We are building a flexible and agile global platform that reinforces our leadership, strengthens our presence in existing markets, and opens the door to new, untapped territories. The acquisition of Asota accelerates this journey.”

Strengthening Leadership in Europe and Beyond

As part of its ongoing business strategy, Beaulieu consistently identifies opportunities to enhance its leadership position and expand its global reach. By integrating its industrial capabilities and operational excellence with Asota’s expertise in materials and research and development, the Group aims to solidify its reputation as a reliable, high-quality partner for customers around the globe.

In conjunction with the acquisition, IFG Exelto will enter into a toll manufacturing agreement with Beaulieu Fibres International (BFI) upon the deal’s completion. This partnership allows Exelto to manufacture fibres on behalf of BFI, ensuring flexibility in operations. The collaboration aims to secure production capacity while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

Looking Ahead

Subject to the finalization of the transaction, Beaulieu and IFG Asota GMBH intend to continue investing in innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions, addressing the evolving requirements of the nonwoven and technical textile markets. This acquisition signifies a major milestone in Beaulieu’s long-term growth strategy and its commitment to shaping the future of Beaulieu Fibres International (BFI).

The transaction is subject to standard closing conditions and is anticipated to be completed by mid-February 2026. Financial details regarding the acquisition will remain undisclosed.
