Circulose, a groundbreaking material created entirely from recycled textiles, has introduced an innovative platform aimed at revolutionizing the fashion supply chain. This unique “dissolving pulp” serves as a crucial raw material for producing various man-made cellulosic fibers, including viscose, lyocell, modal, and acetate.
The launch, in partnership with Canopy—a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental solutions—features several key components designed to enhance the sustainability of the fashion industry. Among these are the Circulose Material Library, Circulose Forward Priced Materials, a Price Calculator, and an expanded network of suppliers.
“Scaling up next-gen materials is not straightforward. To enable adoption at scale and at pace, we need to make integration into brands’ supply chains seamless. Circulose Forward is a key initiative to make that happen,” stated Jonatan Janmark, CEO of Circulose.
Canopy’s founder and executive director, Nicole Rycroft, expressed pride in the collaboration, remarking, “We’re proud to support partner with Circulose’s on the launch of Circulose Forward. This platform provides practical, scalable solutions that align with both climate science and market needs. It’s the kind of innovation that helps the industry leave deforestation in the past and move decisively toward a resilient, low-carbon, Next-Gen future.”
The Circulose Material Library is the inaugural offering under this new platform, showcasing a variety of commercially available fabrics and yarns made with Circulose. This library highlights their aesthetic and functional properties, making it easier for brands to explore sustainable options.
Additionally, the Circulose Forward Priced Materials aim to stabilize costs throughout the supply chain, adhering to a pricing logic designed to prevent unnecessary price escalations.
To assist brands in understanding the financial implications of integrating Circulose into their products, the platform also includes the Circulose Forward Price Calculator—a tool that aids in calculating costs associated with utilizing this innovative material.
“This is just the beginning. Circulose Forward will continue to grow, giving our partners access to a robust portfolio of tools that make circularity not a distant vision—but a reality today,” Janmark added.
Earlier this year, Circulose joined forces with Canopy to promote sustainable fibers, emphasizing efforts to eliminate the use of forest materials within textile supply chains. This collaboration underscores a commitment to environmental sustainability and the development of innovative solutions that align with current market demands.
The Circulose platform represents a significant step forward for the fashion industry, aiming to blend sustainability with practicality, ensuring that circular fashion becomes an attainable goal for brands and consumers alike.
