AI Summary

Unifi, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is unveiling a new product called AMY Peppermint yarn by Unifi, a naturally deodorizing yarn specifically engineered for enduring freshness. This innovative yarn incorporates sustainably sourced peppermint oil, providing an eco-friendly alternative to conventional antimicrobial solutions for odor control.

In addition to AMY Peppermint yarn by Unifi, the company is launching Repreve Takeback and ThermaLoop insulation, both produced entirely from textile waste, enhancing its commitment to sustainability. AMY Peppermint yarn is designed for various applications, including apparel, footwear, home textiles, and transportation. This versatile yarn is available worldwide in both virgin and Repreve recycled polyester, maintaining its effective odor control through up to 50 home laundering cycles. It is fully traceable using FiberPrint technology and is certified by U-Trust, GRS, and SCS for its recycled content.

โ€œThis launch reinforces our commitment to sustainable innovation,โ€ stated Eddie Ingle, CEO of Unifi. โ€œAMY Peppermint yarn by Unifi gives brands a powerful tool to deliver freshness and performance through the power of nature.โ€

AMY Peppermint yarn joins Unifiโ€™s expanding AMY anti-odor line, which features yarns infused with advanced technologies such as silver and zinc oxide. This comprehensive AMY portfolio equips brands with versatile freshness solutions, catering to the growing consumer demand for comfort and sustainability while allowing integration with other performance-enhancing technologies.

In parallel, the introduction of Repreve Takeback and ThermaLoop insulation emphasizes Unifi’s circular economy initiatives, as both products are crafted solely from textile waste, with no colorants, additives, or low-melt polymers. The expansion of the Repreve Takeback range now includes white-dyeable high-performance filament and staple fiber alongside solution-dyed colors. Meanwhile, ThermaLoop insulation, once 50% recycled, is now offered in down-like fiber as well as fiberball and padding forms for enhanced performance and thermal efficiency, further supporting Unifiโ€™s goal to recycle the equivalent of 1.5 billion T-shirts worth of textile waste by 2030.
