MEMPHIS, TN (April 10, 2025) The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is pleased to announce that URBN is the latest global brand to join the program.  URBN, with a portfolio of global consumer brands including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, FP Movement, and Nuuly, is reinforcing its commitment to responsible sourcing and cotton production through its membership.

Joining the Trust Protocol underscores URBN’s dedication to environmental and social responsibility, including its goal of sourcing 100% of its cotton from responsible sources by 2027 and ensuring that 60% of all direct-sourced raw materials come from responsible sources by the same year.

“At URBN, we are committed towards ensuring the cotton we use is grown in an environmentally and socially responsible manner,” said Barbara Rozsas, Chief Sourcing and GTC Officer at URBN. ”We recognize joining the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is a positive step in the traceability of our cotton supply chain and visibility to its environmental impact.”

The Trust Protocol is a voluntary sustainability program with the mission to create a sustainable standard for U.S. Cotton that is data-powered, traceable, and generates positive impact through the global cotton value system. It brings quantifiable and verifiable goals and measurement to responsible cotton production and drives continuous improvement in key sustainability metrics such as land use, soil carbon, and water management.

“We are pleased to welcome URBN to the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol,” said Daren Abney, Executive Director of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol. “Their commitment to sustainable sourcing aligns strongly with our mission to promote responsible cotton production practices and continuous improvement. We look forward to working with URBN to achieve their sourcing and tracing goals.”

URBN’s membership in the Trust Protocol builds upon its existing sustainability initiatives, including investing in circularity, utilizing better materials, reducing waste, and increasing cleaner energy. Through its collaboration with the Trust Protocol, URBN gains access to farm-level data and traceability across the supply chain, ensuring the cotton used in its products meets the highest sustainability standards.
