Archroma is set to unveil its latest innovations in colour and processing at Denim Première Vision Milan from May 21-22 and Denimsandjeans Vietnam from June 25-26.
Denim continues to dominate both mainstream and luxury fashion, but traditional production techniques are increasingly criticized for their excessive water, energy, and chemical consumption.
One of Archroma’s standout innovations is Denim Halo, a groundbreaking pretreatment and dyeing process designed to help mills create highly desired distressed denim styles with a significantly reduced environmental impact.
This process combines Dirsolrd p, a new yarn pretreatment product, with Archroma’s range of indigo, sulphur, or biosynthetic dyes to produce laser-friendly denim. The result is denim with exceptional contrast in deep black and indigo shades, all without needing to adjust standard dye recipes or setups. The solution not only decreases yarn shrinkage and boosts garment tensile strength but also conserves water and energy, eliminates potassium permanganate usage, and limits the need for caustic soda during sulphur dyeing.
In addition to this innovation, Archroma will introduce a new capsule collection at the events. This collection features black denim created using Denim Halo and Diresul Evolution Black, crafted from premium fabric by Kipas Denim and finished using Jeanologia’s washing technology. The result is a contemporary and sophisticated take on black denim that strikes the perfect balance between refined design and sustainable production practices.
“With a broad portfolio of textile dyes and chemicals backed by decades of advanced research, Archroma is rewriting the rules for those who love denim,” says Dhirendra Gautam, Archroma’s VP of global marketing and strategy. “From timeless indigo to trend-driven finishes, we are evolving denim with processing solutions that preserve the fabric’s iconic appeal while minimising its impact.”
