Lenzing has officially introduced Tencel Lyocell – HV100, a new fiber developed to meet the demands of value chain partners seeking textured aesthetics akin to those found in natural fibers.

Tencel Lyocell – HV100 retains the environmental advantages and consistent quality associated with Lenzing’s cellulosic fibers. Notably, it incorporates Varicut technology, which enables variations in fiber length within the bale, resulting in a textured final product.

In addition to its varied textures, the fibers feature a matte finish that accentuates an opaque look, broadening creative avenues for mills and brands aiming to develop fabrics that resemble natural fibers.

The innovative blend will make its debut in denim at Kingpins Amsterdam on October 15-16, with plans to expand into woven textiles and home fabrics by 2026.

“Tencel Lyocell – HV100 redefines what regenerated cellulosic fibers can achieve,” stated Rohit Aggarwal, CEO of Lenzing Group. “This launch comes at a crucial moment as the industry grapples with a growing disparity between fiber demand and supply. As the textile sector evolves to fulfill the rising desire for natural aesthetics and sustainable solutions, Tencel Lyocell – HV100 offers a distinctive solution to both challenges.”

This new fiber opens up fresh possibilities for warp yarn, traditionally dominated by cotton, while ensuring the processing efficiency essential for manufacturers.

Florian Heubrandner, vice president of global business management textiles at Lenzing, remarked, “From a technical perspective, Tencel Lyocell – HV100 enables us to innovate and collaborate with our mill partners in novel ways. We are already observing innovative strategies emerging from various markets, indicating substantial potential for product differentiation.”
