Circulose, which happens to be a global leader when it comes to textile recycling, has gone on to enter into a strategic collaboration with Jilin Chemical Fiber so as to exclusively market as well as sell viscose filament yarn, which is produced with CIRCULOSE, for the worldwide market from 2026 to 2028, therefore speeding up the large-scale adoption when it comes to next-gen textile fibers.

JIRECELL, which happens to be Jilin’s viscose filament yarn, is made from a mix of 30% CIRCULOSE and 70% certified wood pulp and comes with an ambition to raise the recycled content to 50%. After many years of collaboration as well as market validation, Jilin as well as Circulose are now going to scale up the production so as to meet proven international demand when it comes to circular as well as sustainable viscose filament yarn.

According to the CEO of Circulose, Jonatan Janmark, their partnership with Jilin happens to be yet another cornerstone of their company’s mission to speed up fashion’s transition to circularity. IRECELL goes on to demonstrate technical excellence along with market readiness.

With the leadership as well as international reach of Jilin, this ambitious collaboration builds a strong foundation to scale up viscose filament yarn, which is made with CIRCULOSE, while at the same time helping them to make sure of the necessary volume when it comes to their factory.

It is well to be noted that Jilin is taking a major international leadership role when it comes to circularity by way of making a firm commitment in order to purchase CIRCULOSE pulp that is annually increasing in terms of volume.

So as to take care of this commitment, any CIRCULOSE pulp that is not used in JIRECELL production is going to be blended in lower concentrations throughout the wider fiber portfolio of Jilin. This is going to be in sync with the work Jilin has been doing along with Canopy, which happens to be a solutions-driven not-for-profit organization so as to shift away from the ancient and endangered forest input reliance and move towards circular cellulose when it comes to the fashion sector.

The fact is that being the first fiber producer across the world to pursue this approach, Jilin is indeed setting up ambitious targets so as to increase the share in terms of recycled pulp within their production volumes. Through making sure that demand certainty for recyclers such as Circulose is met, this approach helps with the investment and also the scale that’s required to lower the costs and at the same time speed up the mainstream adoption when it comes to next-gen textile fibers throughout the industry.

As per the general manager of Jilin Chemical, Jin Dong-Jie, they have been working with CIRCULOSE for some time now and indeed have full confidence when it comes to performance as well as market potential. Due to this commitment, they are indeed proud to set a major international benchmark when it comes to textile circularity. Together, along with Circulose, they are looking forward to leading the industry into a future in which recycled fibers happen to be the norm.

This collaboration goes on to mark a landmark for the strategy of Circulose so as to restart large-scale production and at the same time also drive a wider impact in terms of global textile supply chains. Through combining the world-leading recycling technology of Circulose along with innovation in viscose filament yarn of Jilin, JIRECELL is all set to speed up the transition of the industry to circular and, of course, renewable textiles at scale.
