Two technology companies are joining forces to help fashion and apparel brands move beyond fragmented pilot programmes and into fully operational Digital Product Passport deployment at scale. Inspectorio, a supply chain data platform provider, and EON, known for its enterprise Digital ID technology, have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at automating and simplifying the creation and management of Digital Product Passports — a regulatory requirement that is rapidly approaching for the global apparel sector.
What the Partnership Involves
The collaboration centres on integrating Inspectorio’s supply chain data platform directly with the EON Product Cloud. Inspectorio’s system aggregates product, material, and supplier data from across multiple tiers of a supply chain, while the EON Product Cloud handles the creation and management of serialised Digital IDs assigned to individual products.
By connecting these two systems, the companies say brands will no longer need to manually handle and transfer information across different software platforms. Instead, the necessary supply chain data will flow automatically into EON for Digital Product Passport deployment — removing a significant operational bottleneck that has slowed many brands attempting to build DPP programmes.
Kamal Anand, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Inspectorio, explained the thinking behind the integration: “Digital Product Passports are fundamentally a data challenge. Brands need the ability to collect, validate, and connect information across products, materials, suppliers, facilities, and multiple tiers of their supply chain. By connecting Inspectorio and EON, we are bringing together the supply chain data infrastructure and Digital ID technology brands need to move from DPP pilots to scalable, operational programs.”
Understanding the Digital Product Passport
A Digital Product Passport is a digital framework designed to capture and share standardised information about a product’s composition, origin, safety, environmental impact, and lifecycle. The goal is to improve sustainability, transparency, and regulatory compliance across the entire value chain.
The Digital Product Passport is anticipated to benefit a broad range of stakeholders — from brands and regulators to consumers, repairers, recyclers, and circular economy partners — by making verified product information universally accessible and machine-readable throughout a product’s life.
Regulatory Timeline and the Ecodesign Regulation
The urgency behind this partnership is reinforced by a firm regulatory timeline. Textile apparel has been specifically highlighted in the Ecodesign Regulation working plan covering 2025 to 2030, which includes the introduction of mandatory ecodesign requirements and a Digital Product Passport for the sector. The European Union is set to formally adopt sector-specific delegated acts for textiles under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation in the fourth quarter of 2027.
This gives brands operating in global supply chains a defined window to build the infrastructure needed for compliance — and it is precisely this window that Inspectorio and EON are targeting with their integrated offering.
From Pilots to Programmes at Scale
One of the central ambitions of this alliance is to help brands make the transition from manually managed Digital Product Passport pilot projects to fully integrated programmes capable of accommodating millions of products and the complexity of global supply chains. The combination of Inspectorio’s supply chain data capabilities and EON’s Digital ID technology is positioned to make that transition operationally feasible.
Natasha Franck, Founder and CEO of EON, described the partnership’s purpose: “The Digital Product Passport represents a new infrastructure layer connecting physical products to trusted digital information throughout their lifecycle. For brands to implement DPPs at scale, the Digital ID must be connected to high-quality data from across the supply chain. Our partnership with Inspectorio makes that connection seamless, combining Inspectorio’s deep supply chain data capabilities with EON’s enterprise Digital ID infrastructure so brands can activate compliant, connected, circular products at scale.”
Together, Inspectorio and EON aim to give brands the tools to build consumer-ready, machine-readable Digital Product Passports that meet the emerging requirements of the Ecodesign Regulation while supporting broader circular economy goals across the apparel industry.
