The International Textile Manufacturers Federation – ITMF and along with the International Apparel Federation – IAF has successfully concluded the second joint convention in Indonesia in 2025.
In close partnership with the host Indonesian Textile Association – API, the event had more than 400 delegates coming from across the world representing the entire textile as well as the apparel value chain.
Interestingly, the conference program was met with massive enthusiasm and also featured a diverse range of high-level discussions pertaining to topics that shape the future of the industry across the world, which includes evolving legislation, technology adoption, audit fatigue reduction, fibre innovation, AI applications, and decarbonization, as well as the transformation of the Indonesian textile and apparel sector. The event also went on to showcase innovation and sustainability as well as collaboration via certain inspiring presentations by winners of the ITMF Awards.
Apart from the conference sessions, ITMF and IAF continued the tradition of hosting culturally rich and, of course, memorable social events. Delegates got a warm welcome by the Sultan of Yogyakarta at a very prominent opening dinner, whereas the Gala Dinner that was held in front of the landmark Prambanan Temple went on to offer a spectacular place when it came to networking and celebration. This special evening also went ahead and marked the start of the tenures of Juan Parés, the ITMF President, and also Stefano Festa Marzotto, the IAF President.
In addition to this, the convention program also went on to include company visits highlighting the dynamic textile and apparel ecosystem of Indonesia. Delegates made a visit to PT Pan Brothers, PT Dan Liris, Gallery Batik Jawa, PT Ambassador Garmindo, PT Golden Tekstil Indonesia – GTI as well as PT Ungaran Sari Garment, therefore gaining firsthand insights into the manufacturing excellence of the country, its innovation capacity, and also its commitment when it comes to sustainability.
The fact is that the success of the joint convention in Indonesia in 2025 was possible due to the strong support of the Indonesian Textile Association – API and also PT Dan Liris as well as PT Pan Brothers, which are both ITMF as well as IAF member companies. Together, they went on to showcase the vibrant and forward-looking textile and apparel sector of Indonesia, thereby projecting a very positive and, of course, ambitious image of the nation being a major location when it comes to the production of textiles as well as garments.
