World Emblem, a leading manufacturer of emblems and patches, has inaugurated a new production facility, referred to as the World Emblem new factory in Dominican Republic, as part of its strategy to strengthen its supply chain and improve operational efficiency. This new factory marks a significant advancement in World Emblem’s nearshoring initiative, aimed at moving some production closer to the U.S.
Situated in the Tamboril Free Trade Zone in Santiago de los Caballeros, the World Emblem new factory in Dominican Republic is designed to enhance supply chain management and facilitate growth through improved operational efficiencies. CEO Randy Carr shared with Just Style, “We selected the Dominican Republic after asking ChatGPT to suggest a hospitable country to open a new factory and do business, based on our industry. After visiting the island and experiencing first-hand its business-friendly environment, skilled workforce, and proximity to our clients in the United States, we knew we made the right choice.”
Spanning 100,000 square feet, the factory is expected to initially employ around 100 people, with the potential to create up to 500 jobs in the future. Construction is slated for completion by early next year, following a long-term lease agreement signed in June.
Victor (Ito) Bisonó, the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, remarked during the lease signing, “With our skilled and growing workforce, strong partnership with the U.S., and proximity to World Emblem’s customers, our country is the ideal place for the company to continue to grow its business.”
Founded in South Florida, World Emblem produces nearly 250 million items each year for various sectors, including sports headwear, uniforms, and footwear. Utilizing advanced technology and equipment, the company crafts customized emblems and textured products for notable North American brands such as New Era, Levi’s, and Cintas. In addition to the new Dominican facility, World Emblem maintains operations in Georgia, Texas, California, Mexico, and Canada.
