Call it a step toward a more sustainable future — or just call it the perfect pair of jeans. Either way, AGOLDE’s latest collection has changed the game for denim producers and consumers around the globe.

This Earth Month, the luxury denim brand debuted a collection of jeans and denim shorts made with bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, a revolutionary stretch fiber made with plant-based materials such as corn.

Bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, which will be broadly available later this year, has the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of LYCRA® fiber by up to 44%* while maintaining the quality and performance you expect from LYCRA® brand, making it easier for brands, retailers, and fabric producers to get closer to their sustainability goals. Plus, this fiber requires no changes to the manufacturing process — simply swap out existing spandex fibers for bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber.

“This collaboration marks the first commercial adoption in denim of bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, a major boon for consumers looking for more sustainable denim options,” said Melissa Riggs, chief marketing officer at The LYCRA Company. “Our partnership with Citizens of Humanity, the parent company of AGOLDE, reflects a shared commitment to more sustainable practices and products across the value chain. We’re ALL IN with our partners for a more eco-friendly future.”
