ShinWon Corporation (CEO: JJ Park), a prominent global apparel manufacturer, has officially become a member of the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), marking a significant achievement as only the second Korean vendor to join this influential group. This milestone highlights South Korea’s growing impact on the global fashion industry.

By joining AAFA, ShinWon aims to strengthen its collaborations with existing clients and tap into new opportunities within the association’s extensive network. The membership reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, reinforcing its role as a responsible global entity. ShinWon is dedicated to making measurable advancements in sustainable business practices, focusing on ethical sourcing, eco-friendly production, and corporate social responsibility, in line with international standards.

CEO JJ Park began his engagement with AAFA last November by participating in a Social Compliance Committee meeting in Virginia, USA. As a representative of a supplier operating in Guatemala, Park highlighted ShinWon’s initiatives aimed at supporting women workers through education and career development programs. His comments underscored the vital role of corporate social responsibility in fostering worker welfare and gender equality across the global supply chain.

“Our mission is to cultivate a fair labor environment and champion gender equality throughout our global operations. Through AAFA and the RISE initiative, ShinWon will strengthen its sustainability efforts while contributing to collective progress in ethical fashion,” stated JJ Park.

On March 25, ShinWon held its inaugural Compliance Management Declaration Ceremony at its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. During this event, the company reviewed its ESG initiatives from the past year and unveiled a strategic roadmap to institutionalize corporate ethics. This plan includes specific measures such as human rights management, anti-corruption protocols, ethical business conduct, and fair trade policies. ShinWon also launched training programs and internal reporting systems to enhance compliance awareness throughout the organization.

ShinWon’s export division operates 13 subsidiaries across five countries, including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the United States, employing approximately 30,000 individuals in its production facilities. The company has received Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) certification for its carbon reduction and net-zero goals and continues to enhance its ESG framework through annual sustainability reports and environmental initiatives.
