Circ, a company specializing in textile-to-textile recycling, is strengthening its collaboration with Pyratex, a textile research and development firm, in response to a growing demand for scalable and authentically circular textile solutions.

This enhanced partnership will allow Circโ€™s recycled fibers to be integrated into Pyratexโ€™s fabric collections, establishing Pyratex as Circ’s primary partner in Europe for the production of circular knitted fabrics and knitwear.

After three years of joint development, Pyratex has successfully produced fabrics that utilize Circโ€™s recycled polyester and lyocell fibers. The company is now gearing up for bulk production for selected clients, with market launches expected shortly.

Pyratex is preparing to scale operations as Circ plans to open a commercial-scale textile-to-textile recycling facility in France, with intentions to provide these recycled fibers as sustainable alternatives to traditional polyester and lyocell.

Regina Polanco, CEO of Pyratex, stated: โ€œCircโ€™s technology provides the industry with what it urgently needs: genuinely recycled fibers from the most commonly used textiles in fashion. Through this partnership, we can seamlessly integrate these solutions into our textile formulations, ensuring that we meet brand needs for quality, performance, and design flexibility while reducing environmental impact on a larger scale.โ€

This collaboration highlights the commitment of both companies to facilitate a transformation in the fashion industry, moving away from virgin fibers towards circular alternatives without sacrificing visual appeal or functionality. Theย collaboration for circular textilesย focuses on combining expertise from both firms to develop sustainable solutions that resonate with todayโ€™s environmentally conscious consumers.

Circ and Pyratex plan to showcase their joint efforts at an upcoming Textile Exchange event in Portugal on October 17. During this field trip, brands will have the chance to observe circular fiber production in action and explore ways to incorporate these innovative materials into their future collections.

Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ, commented: โ€œPyratex has established itself as a leader in transforming innovative ideas into practical and scalable fabric solutions. Their initial partnership and ongoing investment in Circ fibers reflect a significant shift in the industry, demonstrating long-term commitments to support circularity at an industrial level. We are working collaboratively to create a supply chain that prioritizes circularity precisely where it is needed most: at scale.โ€ This ongoingย collaboration for circular textilesย is set to redefine industry standards, making sustainable practices more attainable for brands and manufacturers alike.
