Cascale says its Manufacturer Climate Action Programme (MCAP) is translating corporate climate pledges into measurable supply-chain action, with validated targets now linked to more than 1.6 million metric tons of CO2e reductions. The update comes in Cascale’s newly released MCAP Annual Impact Report 2025, which tracks progress as the initiative expands across manufacturing hubs.

According to the report, the Manufacturer Climate Action Programme has validated 52 science-aligned targets, reflecting a growing pipeline of supplier decarbonisation commitments that have been reviewed through third-party processes. MCAP currently includes 85 manufacturer groups and eight sponsoring brands, spanning 446 participating facilities across 19 countries.

Beyond target-setting, the programme has also moved deeper into implementation planning. Cascale said MCAP has supported 33 climate risk assessments to strengthen long-term resilience planning, while 43 decarbonisation plans are currently under development.

MCAP is structured to guide manufacturers through a sequence of steps: measuring greenhouse gas emissions, setting science-aligned targets (SATs) for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, conducting climate risk analysis, and building detailed roadmaps that outline practical emissions-reduction levers over multiple years. Cascale says the approach is designed to reduce the gap between headline commitments and on-the-ground changes in factories by providing tools, training and external validation.

Joyce Tsoi, senior director of Cascale’s decarbonisation programme, said the initiative is reaching a new level of scale. “I’m extremely proud that MCAP has achieved a significant milestone in its evolution into a scaled industry decarbonisation programme participated by 85 manufacturer groups across 19 countries.

“This structural and pragmatic approach, which enables manufacturers not only in setting science aligned targets as the start, catalyses a shift from commitment to implementation across the manufacturing community to achieve it, all manufacturers have a multi-year actionable decarbonisation plan which contains available levers to deliver ongoing emissions reductions.

“During the past 12 months, MCAP strategic council members have played a critical role in shaping the program we deeply appreciate the time, expertise, and commitment contributed by them, whose collaborative leadership has played a critical role in advancing the program delivery and impact. The progress we are seeing today reflects the power of structured collaboration, shared accountability, and practical tools that enable manufacturers to act at scale.”

Cascale highlighted governance as another element of the programme’s evolution. In May 2025 it established the MCAP Strategic Council, a multi-stakeholder body tasked with aligning programme activity with strategic objectives, monitoring performance and strengthening accountability across participants.

The organisation also pointed to the programme’s technical support model, which includes ongoing training sessions delivered in English and Chinese, and a peer-learning community where participating manufacturers can access case studies and exchange best practices.

Cascale said all 52 graduates from MCAP Cohorts 1 and 2 completed the 18-month programme with validated science-aligned targets by April 2026, delivering a 100% validation rate. The organisation described that outcome as evidence that the Manufacturer Climate Action Programme can move participants from intention to verified action.

Building on the reported results, Cascale plans to open two new MCAP cohorts this year. It is also developing post-programme support intended to extend manufacturer-brand collaboration and help companies continue tracking targets and delivering emissions reductions over time.
